Sul Ross State University Announces 2025 Homecoming Festivities

Sul Ross State University has released the schedule for its 2025 Homecoming Weekend, set for October 10–12 in Alpine. The celebration will bring together alumni, students, faculty, and the community for a spirited lineup of events blending tradition, athletics, and West Texas charm.

Friday, October 10

Homecoming kicks off Friday morning with Alumni Check-in at the Morgan University Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Campus tours will follow at 2 p.m., beginning at Lawrence Hall, giving alumni a chance to revisit familiar spots and see what’s new on campus.

The evening begins with a Welcome Reception from 4–7 p.m. at Alcove Social, followed by one of the weekend’s highlights: the Parade, Bonfire & Pep Rally from 7:30–9 p.m., starting in downtown Alpine and ending at the Rec Field. The night wraps up with an After Party at Alcove Social, featuring live music by alumnus Matt Santa Cruz.

Saturday, October 11

Festivities continue Saturday with the General Alumni Meeting at 11 a.m. in the Espino Conference Center. At noon, alumni can compete in the Cornhole Tournament at Skelton’s Runway.

Athletics take center stage in the afternoon with Women’s Soccer at 1 p.m. on the Lobo Soccer Field, followed by a Museum of the Big Bend tour at 3 p.m.

The evening builds toward the big game, starting with the Alumni VIP Lobo Lounge at 5 p.m. in Jackson Field, leading up to the much-anticipated Homecoming Kickoff at 7 p.m.

Sunday, October 12

The weekend closes on a reflective note with a Farewell Breakfast at 9 a.m. at the Museum of the Big Bend. At 11 a.m., attendees can join the traditional Homecoming Hike on Hancock Hill, beginning at the Mountainside Parking Lot. The hike, hosted by the 915 Lobos El Paso Chapter, offers alumni and friends a chance to close out the weekend with a scenic view and lasting memories.

Sul Ross officials encourage alumni and community members to attend, reconnect, and celebrate what it means to be a Lobo.
