Reeves County Emergency Services District is opening applications later this month for its 2026 Firefighter and EMT Cadet programs.
The “Earn While You Learn” initiative provides paid training while candidates complete academy requirements. The Fire/EMT academy runs six to eight months, while the EMT-only track takes just two months.
Starting pay is $54,000 annually, increasing to $72,000 once certification is completed.
“No experience? No problem,” Reeves County EMS stated in a social media post. “All training is provided — and you’ll be paid while in the academy.”
Applications open September 29 at rcesd.org. An informational career fair will also take place that evening at 6 p.m. at the Reeves County Civic Center.
