Carlos Mendoza Jr. Retires After 33 Years of Service to Presidio and Terlingua Area

Carlos Mendoza Jr., longtime Presidio Maintenance Section Supervisor with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), has officially retired after 33 years of service.

The City of Presidio shared its appreciation on social media: “Thanks for being so responsive to our city’s needs over the years, Carlos Mendoza, Jr. Happy retirement!”

TxDOT’s El Paso District also honored him, noting that Mendoza began as a summer hire and went on to dedicate his career to maintaining roads and supporting communities across the Presidio/Terlingua area.

Mendoza was celebrated locally with a retirement party featuring a cake that read, “Congratulations on 33 years of service Carlos.”
