Earlier this week, two dogs entered the Alpine ISD Ag Barn and attacked student-raised FFA animals housed at the facility. According to the district, the attack prompted an immediate response from staff and community members to improve security and protect the remaining animals.
Within 24 hours, maintenance crews had installed new, higher fencing around the facility. “We have the best people!” the district posted. “Thank you to everyone who helped out with this situation this week. We appreciate you!”
The dogs responsible for the attack have since been located and turned over to Animal Control.
The incident stirred concern among local families and students involved in the agriculture program. However, the quick and coordinated effort to respond demonstrates the district’s commitment to student safety—and the safety of their animals.
