After putting out a house fire and ensuring everyone was safe, firefighters from Midland’s Station 2 went above and beyond—saving the family’s pets and salvaging meaningful belongings. When they learned that two of the children affected had birthdays that week, they invited the family back to the firehouse for a special celebration.
With food, cake, and gifts, the firefighters helped turn a traumatic moment into a joyful one.
Midland Mayor Lori Blong praised the crew on Facebook, writing, “I can’t say thank you enough to these men and women of our Midland Fire Department who always choose compassion and work so hard to keep our community safe.”
