Alpine ISD Approves Pay Increases for Substitutes, Bus Staff

In a unanimous move to recognize and support some of the district’s most essential team members, the Alpine ISD Board of Trustees approved compensation increases for several key roles during this month’s board meeting.

The updated pay rates are as follows:

💜 Substitute Paraprofessionals/Clerical: $81/day (15% increase) 💛 Substitute Teachers: $92–$110/day (15% increase) 💜 Bus Drivers: $35 per trip (up $2.50) 💛 Bus Monitors: $14 per trip (up $4.00)

These new rates will be retroactive to the first day of the 2025–26 school year, ensuring all eligible team members receive the full benefit of the increase.

“Substitutes, drivers, and monitors are critical to daily operations and student success,” said district officials in a statement thanking the Board and administrative team for making the raises possible. “We’re deeply grateful for all they do.”

This move reflects Alpine ISD’s continued commitment to honoring the service and dedication of those who help keep schools running smoothly.
