Big Bend National Park Seeks Winter Volunteers for Visitor Centers

Big Bend National Park is seeking volunteer hosts to live and work in the park during the upcoming winter season. Volunteers are needed for the Castolon Visitor Center and Persimmon Gap Visitor Center during the busy months of November, December, and January.

Selected volunteers will serve as Visitor Center Hosts, providing assistance to park guests, helping them plan their visits, sharing information about the park’s natural and cultural history, processing entrance fees and park passes, and supporting the Big Bend Natural History Association through merchandise sales.

In exchange for 32 hours of volunteer service per week, hosts will receive:

An RV site with full hookups Reimbursement for propane expenses The opportunity to live in one of the most remote and scenic areas of the National Park System

This position is ideal for individuals or couples with strong communication skills, a passion for the outdoors, and a desire to engage with visitors from across the country and around the world.
