Presidio Elementary Teachers Prepare for New School Year with Literacy Training

Just ahead of the new school year, English Language teachers at Presidio Elementary School participated in a focused professional development session aimed at strengthening literacy instruction. On August 5, the educators took part in training with Just Right Readers, a program designed to match students with appropriately leveled books and build reading fluency.

The session provided hands-on strategies and tools to support English learners as they develop foundational reading skills. District leaders emphasized the importance of equipping teachers with the resources they need to help students grow.

“With school just around the corner, our dedicated PES English Language teachers are gearing up for success,” Presidio ISD shared. “Today our teachers enhanced their teaching toolkit by diving headfirst into Just Right Readers Professional Development. At PISD we are committed to enhancing literacy skills and ensuring every student finds the right book for their journey.”

The training reflects Presidio ISD’s ongoing investment in student achievement and professional growth, as the district works to ensure all learners are ready for the year ahead.
