Authorities Respond to Reports of Gunfire Near Ojinaga; One Person Injured

One person was injured in a reported shooting near Placer de Guadalupe on Friday evening, according to Municipal Public Safety Director Sergio Urías. The incident prompted a multi-agency law enforcement response amid additional unverified reports circulating on social media.

The first report was received at 5:09 p.m. via the C7 Chihuahua emergency network. Authorities from all three levels of government responded to the location. The toll road between Ojinaga and Chihuahua was inspected and found to be clear.

Later that evening, at 8:46 p.m., social media users claimed that armed confrontations were taking place between the communities of La Mula and El Oasis. Officers already patrolling the area reported no signs of any confrontation, and the claims were dismissed by officials on the ground.

Following those reports, the State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE) and the State Investigation Agency (AEI) deployed additional units from the state capital to bolster security in Ojinaga and nearby rural zones.

As of the latest update, regional dispatch center C7-Ojinaga has received no additional confirmed reports of incidents in the area.
