Wassermann Wranch will host a community workday on Saturday, Sept. 6, inviting volunteers to help with fence line clearing, tree trimming and other projects.
The event begins at 8 a.m. and will continue until work is complete. Tasks range from jobs requiring no prior experience to those involving chain saw use and welding. Organizers say the work will prepare the property for new fencing to help keep animals — including camels, donkeys, alpacas, a llama, kangaroos, a miniature horse, a chicken, a barn cat and deer — safely contained.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring work gloves, sturdy boots, and, if possible, additional chain saws or welding rigs. Lunch, water and snacks will be provided, and participants are asked to RSVP if they plan to stay for lunch to ensure enough food is available.
Organizers emphasize that volunteers are welcome to participate for as little as 30 minutes or a few hours. Children may attend if accompanied by a parent.
