Alpine Animal Services has named Star, a bright and affectionate pup, as its Pet of the Week, and is offering a special adoption fee of just $50 through Sunday, July 13—half the usual cost.
Star arrived at the shelter on May 28, along with her four sisters, after being surrendered through no fault of her own. The pups were part of an accidental litter, and their previous owner was unable to rehome all of them.
Described by staff as sweet, smart, and full of personality, Star has quickly become a favorite among the shelter team. “She smiles when she meets new people, loves to cuddle, and brings joy to everyone around her,” one staff member shared.
Star is still a bit shy around young children, but shelter staff believe she’ll adjust well with time and patience. She is doing well with leash training—though she occasionally jumps with excitement—and has shown promise in quickly picking up commands, making her a great candidate for basic obedience training.
The $50 adoption fee includes spay surgery, a microchip, heartworm test, and all necessary vaccinations.
Families and individuals interested in meeting Star can stop by the Alpine Animal Services Shelter at 2900 Old Marathon Highway, Alpine, TX 79830.
