The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is accepting applications for a full-time Food Service Manager IV to oversee operations at the Black Bear Restaurant, located at Indian Lodge in Davis Mountains State Park.
The position pays $5,687.50 per month and offers a 40-hour workweek with benefits including health insurance, paid leave, retirement plans, and staff development opportunities. Applications are due by June 26, 2025.
Under the direction of park management, the Restaurant Manager will be responsible for supervising daily operations, managing staff, designing menus, placing grocery orders, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The role also includes overseeing budgets, financial reporting, and supporting the restaurant’s long-term viability. The manager may also assist with cooking duties and special events as needed.
Applicants must have:
- A high school diploma or GED
- Three years of experience managing operations in a hotel or freestanding restaurant
- Two years of supervisory food service experience
- A valid driver’s license
- The ability to obtain a Texas Food Service Manager certification within 30 days of employment
Preferred qualifications include a degree in culinary arts or restaurant management.
