The Museum of the Big Bend is presenting Finding the Light: Photography by Jim Bones, a new exhibit on view from June 13 through August 30, 2025.
The exhibition features images of Texas and New Mexico by the late photographer, whose work reflects a deep reverence for the natural world. Known for capturing the essence of light and land, Bones’s legacy continues through more than 260 prints now housed at The Wittliff Collections, which has become the primary repository for his work.
The exhibit includes recently acquired pieces, made possible by the Friends of Jim Bones Campaign in 2022. Highlights include Burro Bluff, Rio Grande Lower Canyons, Texas-Mexico and Winter Moon.
