Independence Day is just around the corner, and Fort Davis residents can now reserve smoked briskets and pork butts for the holiday.
For more than 40 years, the Jeff Davis County Courthouse barbecue has been a staple of the July 4th festivities. Along with the noon meal, community members have the opportunity to purchase cooked briskets and pork butts. Proceeds support the Jeff Davis County 4-H and FFA youth who are part of the Jeff Davis County Livestock Association (JDSLA).
In addition, plates of brisket, beans, and all the fixin’s will be served on July 5, right after the annual parade by the old jail.
Because supplies are limited, smoked briskets and pork butts are only available through pre-orders.
To reserve yours, contact Adele Coffey at (432) 249-0344 or Tate Dillard at (806) 696-0919. Orders will be ready for pickup following the 4th of July parade.
