Big Bend Family Crisis Center Staff Attend National Crimes Against Women Conference

Two representatives from the Family Crisis Center of the Big Bend attended the 20th Annual Conference on Crimes Against Women, held May 19–22 in Dallas.

Debra Guerrero, legal advocate, and Virginia Sandoval, program director, were among more than 2,500 attendees at the national event, which featured over 250 workshops and case studies.

According to organizers, the Conference on Crimes Against Women (CCAW) is “the only conference that addresses all crimes against women with a multidisciplinary focus that encourages a coordinated community response.”

The event brings together professionals in law enforcement, advocacy, social services, and the legal system to share strategies, research, and real-world case studies aimed at preventing and responding to gender-based violence.
