The National Park Service has announced its selected Artists in Residence for the summer 2025 season at Big Bend National Park. The program, supported by the Big Bend Natural History Association, invites artists to engage with the park’s landscape and share their creative work through public programs.
The selected artists and their mediums, in order of residency, are:
Shannon King – Writer
Rita Frey – Wildlife and nature photography
Lorraine Bubar – Papercutting
Katie Martin Lightfoot – Ceramicist
Landry McMeans – Stencils
Lauren Cason – Gouache and interactive media
Each artist will host a free public outreach program during their stay, offering visitors an opportunity to connect with the park through various creative practices.
