Following years of construction and anticipation, the Black Bear Restaurant has officially reopened its doors at Indian Lodge inside Davis Mountains State Park. The long-awaited return began Monday, April 28, with the restaurant now operating Thursday through Monday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The reopening is part of a phased comeback for Indian Lodge, which is also now accepting guests into 15 rooms in the non-historic section from April 28 to May 4. The full lodge has been undergoing extensive renovations that left both the lodge and restaurant closed for extended periods.
A favorite of both locals and visitors, the Black Bear Restaurant is known for its welcoming service, hearty breakfast fare, and scenic mountain views. Its return brings back not just a dining option, but a cherished piece of Fort Davis tourism and tradition.
