Digital Media and Yearbook students from Fort Stockton High School had an exciting opportunity this week to step behind the scenes of professional news production during a visit to the CBS7 broadcast studio in Odessa.
During the visit, students gained firsthand insight into the fast-paced world of television journalism. Touring the studio, they observed the many moving parts involved in delivering daily broadcasts, from the high-energy control room to the anchor desk.
The experience offered students a closer look at the wide range of roles within the industry — including reporting, filming, editing, and live broadcasting — providing a real-world perspective on the teamwork, technical skills, and dedication required to bring news stories to life.
The trip served as a valuable learning experience for students interested in media, communications, and journalism, bridging classroom knowledge with industry practice.
