Sul Ross State University Honors Two Staff Members with 2025 Bar-SR-Bar Award

Sul Ross State University has recognized Samantha Sanchez, Retention Specialist, and Clayton Garcia, Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations, as recipients of the 2025 Bar-SR-Bar Award.

The awards were presented by President Carlos Hernandez on Tuesday at the Morgan University Center. Winners are nominated by their peers and selected by the Staff Excellence Award Committee.

The Bar-SR-Bar Award is one of the university’s highest staff honors, celebrating exceptional service and commitment to the institution. In addition to formal recognition, each recipient receives a $1,000 stipend.

Sul Ross, a regional public university in Far West Texas, continues to spotlight staff excellence across all departments of the institution.
