Former Alpine Cowboys starting pitcher Dieterich Guertzgen has signed with the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League, the club announced.
Guertzgen, who previously took the mound for the Alpine Cowboys, continues his professional baseball journey by joining the independent league team based in Billings, Montana. The Pioneer League is a Major League Baseball Partner League.
The Alpine Cowboys, based in Alpine, Texas, compete in the independent Pecos League and have a long-standing tradition of player development, with several alumni moving on to higher levels of professional baseball.
