The Chinati Foundation continues to offer three types of guided public tours Wednesday through Sunday, with free admission for members, children under 17, active military, and residents of Brewster, Jeff Davis, and Presidio counties.
All guided tour reservations include open viewing of Donald Judd’s 15 untitled works in concrete, which is also free and open to the public Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests must check in at the visitor center upon arrival.
Tour options include:
- Full Collection Tour ($35): Begins at 9:30 a.m. and includes all available installations, such as the John Chamberlain Building in downtown Marfa. The tour lasts approximately six hours, including a lunch break.
- Selections Tour ($25): Starts at 10:00 a.m. and visits Judd’s 100 untitled works in mill aluminum, Dan Flavin’s untitled (Marfa project), Robert Irwin’s untitled (dawn to dusk), Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen’s Monument to the Last Horse, and the John Chamberlain Building. The tour spans about three hours of walking.
- Focus Tour ($15): Varies by season and highlights Judd’s 100 untitled works in mill aluminum and Zoe Leonard’s Al río / To the River from October 16, 2024, to June 22, 2025. The tour lasts about 1.5 hours.
Robert Irwin’s untitled (dawn to dusk) will be closed from April 7 to 15, 2025.
Discounts are available for seniors (65+), students, teachers, and healthcare workers. All tours require reservations and may be subject to cancellation with full refunds provided. Visitors should arrive 15 minutes early and provide their own transportation to off-site locations.
