Chinati Foundation Adds Two Trustees with Deep Ties to Art and Marfa

Last fall, the Chinati Foundation in Marfa announced the appointment of Heather Pesanti and Neil Subin to its Board of Trustees, expanding its leadership with individuals deeply connected to both the art world and the local community.

Pesanti brings nearly two decades of curatorial experience to the board. She currently serves as Curator and Vice President of Dimensional Fund Advisors in Austin, where she oversees the firm’s international corporate art collection. Her background includes curatorial roles at The Contemporary Austin, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the Carnegie Museum of Art, and MCA Chicago.

Subin, a part-time Marfa resident, entrepreneur, and longtime supporter of Chinati, has been involved with the foundation for nearly a decade. A collector of Donald Judd’s work, Subin is Chief Investment Officer at MILFAM and holds board positions with multiple financial and energy firms.

Chinati Foundation leadership noted that both new trustees bring a shared dedication to the foundation’s mission and valuable expertise as it undertakes new projects to preserve and present its collection, architecture, and surrounding landscape.

Founded by Donald Judd in 1986, the Chinati Foundation continues to serve as a permanent site for art integrated with the landscape of Far West Texas.
