TPWD Hiring Office Manager for Big Bend Ranch State Park in Terlingua

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is seeking applicants for an Administrative Assistant V position—serving as Complex Office Manager—at Big Bend Ranch State Park in Terlingua.

The full-time role offers a monthly salary of $4,706.10 and includes responsibilities such as administrative support, purchasing, budgeting, personnel management, and customer service. The position is classified as exempt and comes with state employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Applicants must have at least three years of administrative support experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license. Preference will be given to candidates with four years of experience, customer service skills, and a background in budget management or procurement.

The position requires living on-site in state housing, with a rental deduction set by TPWD policy. Applicants should be aware that the role is based in a remote and rugged part of the Chihuahuan Desert with limited amenities and cell service. The park, however, offers some of Texas’ most scenic outdoor recreation opportunities.
