The City of Midland has officially broken ground on Zoo Midland and The Preserve at Midland, marking the start of a major new development aimed at bringing wildlife experiences to West Texas.
In a social media post made on April 1, the city initially teased the announcement as an April Fools’ joke but quickly confirmed that the zoo project is indeed real. The city expressed enthusiasm about the launch, calling it a “wild new adventure” for the region.
Zoo Midland and The Preserve at Midland are expected to expand educational and recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike. Further details about the scope and timeline of the project have not yet been released.
