Jeff Davis Mountain Medics is offering local teens a hands-on opportunity to explore the world of emergency medical services through its new EMS Cadet Program. Open to students ages 15 to 18, the program begins April 1 and includes training in CPR, first aid, team building, and department protocols—preparing cadets for real-world EMS ride-alongs and patient care experiences.
The program counts toward volunteer hours and can fulfill class requirements for both public school and homeschool students. Participants will gain exposure to advanced life-saving procedures while learning the fundamentals of the EMS field.
To join, cadets must attend an orientation with a parent or guardian, complete HIPAA training, submit a liability waiver and consent form, and provide one recommendation letter from a non-relative adult over 21.
Those interested should contact EMS Director Peggy Moats at (432) 249-0023 or email for more details and registration.
