The Fort Davis UIL robotics team, 75775A, known as the Digital Natives, showcased their skills at the Regional 1 Competition on January 25. The team earned their spot among 37 high school teams from West Texas, including those from El Paso, securing a place in the finals bracket after finishing 12th in the qualifying rounds.
The Digital Natives, comprised of team members John Miles, Andy Herrera, Liam Biskamp, and Eramin Ramos, advanced to the quarter-finals before being eliminated. Their performance at the regional competition highlighted the team’s dedication and technical skills in a field that continues to grow along the Gulf of Mexico region.
Earning a place at the Regional 1 Competition is a significant achievement for the Fort Davis team, reflecting the hard work and preparation of the students and their coaches. The Digital Natives’ journey underscores the expanding opportunities for STEM education in rural Texas schools.
