Marfa City Council and staff toured the Marfa Activities Center (MAC) this week following $650,000 in renovations that modernized the event space and emergency shelter. Upgrades include polished concrete floors, tin walls, new bathrooms, a stage, and a serving station. The project, led by 6 Roses Construction, started in July and is expected to be completed this week, just in time for its first rental on Saturday. The grand reopening is set for spring, aligning with the expected debut of the Coffield Park splash pad. Alongside the renovations, the city increased rental rates, raised deposit fees, and reinstated rental policies, aiming to improve maintenance and security at MAC and the USO (Marfa Visitor’s Center).
