A police pursuit through Presidio ended in the arrest of an undocumented driver Wednesday afternoon after he failed to comply with a traffic stop.
The incident began around 3:15 p.m. when Presidio County sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a 2018 Land Rover with Alabama plates. The driver, an undocumented migrant, refused to pull over, leading authorities on a chase that ended on FM 170 west of Presidio.
U.S. Border Patrol agents, sheriff’s deputies, and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) officers successfully stopped the vehicle and took the driver into custody. No injuries were reported.
As a precaution, Presidio High School was placed on lockdown while law enforcement secured the area until the pursuit concluded.
