Terlingua Fire & EMS Receives $5,000 Donation from Chili Appreciation Society International

Terlingua Fire & EMS is pleased to announce a generous donation of $5,000 from the Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI). Fire Medics from A-Shift were present to accept the donation check, which will be allocated towards acquiring equipment that will directly benefit the South Brewster County community.

Captain J. Thomason, AEMT and Public Information Officer for Terlingua Fire & EMS, expressed gratitude for the contribution, stating, “We couldn’t be more thankful to the Chili Appreciation Society International for their gracious donation of $5,000!”

CASI, renowned for hosting the annual Terlingua International Chili Championship, has a longstanding tradition of supporting local organizations in the Terlingua area. Their contributions have previously benefited groups such as the Terlingua School and Brewster County Sheriff’s Office, as well as providing scholarships to students at Big Bend High School. 

This latest donation underscores CASI’s ongoing commitment to the Terlingua community and will enhance the capabilities of Terlingua Fire & EMS in serving the residents of South Brewster County.
