The Chinati Foundation is inviting applications for its Grassland Restoration Practicum, a five-day, hands-on program focused on the conservation of West Texas grasslands. Scheduled for April 14–18, 2025, the practicum provides participants an opportunity to explore the Chihuahuan Desert’s unique ecology while engaging in meaningful restoration work.
This paid program offers participants $15 per hour, daily lunch, and transportation to gardens, greenhouses, conservation sites, and fieldwork locations. Participants will gain expert-led instruction on native grasslands, Chihuahuan plants, and soil stewardship. Designed as an immersive, 40-hour experience, the practicum aims to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills for grassland conservation.
Enrollment is limited to five participants, with a strong encouragement for women and gender non-conforming individuals to apply. The program’s small cohort size ensures personalized attention and a collaborative learning environment.
