The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks Middle School and High School Track & Field teams are ready to hit the ground running this spring, with a packed schedule of meets across Texas. From local relays to state championships, athletes and coaches are set to represent Alpine ISD with determination and pride.
Middle School Track & Field Schedule:
- February 20: Fort Stockton Meet – Fort Stockton
- February 27: Sandhills Relays – Monahans
- March 6: Fightin’ Buck MS Relays – Alpine
- March 12: Open
- March 17-21: Spring Break
- March 27: District Meet – Alpine
Coaches for the middle school team include Boys Head Coach Matthew Chavez and Girls Head Coach Cory Cason, supported by assistant coaches Iris Chavez, Taryn Johnson, and Chris Wilson.
High School Track & Field Schedule:
- January 24-25: Wes Kittley Indoor Meet – Texas Tech University, Lubbock
- February 14: Queen City Relays – Del Rio
- February 22: Comanche Relays – Fort Stockton
- February 28: Sandhills Relays – Monahans
- March 6: Wink Wildcat Relays – Wink
- March 14-15: San Angelo Relays – San Angelo (Varsity)
- March 29: Fightin’ Buck Relays – Alpine
- April 3: District Meet – Alpine
- April 10: Area Championship – Denver City
- April 18-19: Regional Championship – Abilene
- May 1-3: State Championship – Austin
Leading the high school teams are Boys Head Coach Matthew Chavez and Girls Head Coach Cory Cason, with assistance from Aaron Hardwick, Taryn Johnson, Andy Smith, Linda Morris, and Chris Wilson. Athletic Director Doug Gray oversees the program.
