Rio Grande Borderland Ministries (RGBM) is sponsoring free U.S. citizenship classes in Fort Davis, Alpine, Marfa, and Presidio. These classes aim to assist individuals preparing for the naturalization process, providing support in both Spanish and English.
In-person group sessions will utilize Zoom at each site, with Spanish instruction on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m., followed by English instruction at 6:30 p.m. A home study program is also available for those unable to attend the scheduled sessions.
For more information in English, contact Reverend Michael Wallens, vicar of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Marfa, at 214-862-7292. A contact number for Spanish-language assistance will be announced soon. Interested participants can also inquire at their local public libraries.
RGBM, a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande, has been addressing systemic needs in the borderlands of New Mexico and Far West Texas for decades. The organization works collaboratively to provide humanitarian support to vulnerable populations in these communities. Learn more about RGBM’s work at riograndeborderland.org.
There is no cost to participate in the citizenship classes.
