Big Bend National Park Honors Law Enforcement Rangers

On National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, Big Bend National Park is recognizing the dedicated rangers who wear many hats beyond law enforcement, including roles as search-and-rescue responders, firefighters, and pilots. These rangers work tirelessly to protect visitors, preserve the park’s natural and cultural resources, and ensure safety across its vast, rugged terrain.

The National Park Service has incorporated law enforcement into its mission since its inception in 1916, with rangers often operating in some of the most remote areas of the country. Big Bend’s rangers continue this tradition, safeguarding the park and its visitors while maintaining its pristine beauty.
