Outdoor enthusiasts are invited to join a Master Naturalist-led hike at Davis Mountains State Park on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025. This 2-mile, moderate walk provides an opportunity to explore the history, geology, climate, flora, and fauna of the Davis Mountains while enjoying its stunning vistas.
The hike will begin at 10 a.m. and last approximately 90 minutes. Participants will meet at the far end of Skyline Drive, near the CCC Rock Lookout, a 10-minute drive from the park headquarters. Led by a knowledgeable park volunteer and Master Naturalist, the hike includes a steep, 15-minute incline and traverses a rocky trail with steps.
What to Bring
Participants are encouraged to wear hiking shoes, bring water, and pack a hat, sunscreen, and trekking poles if needed.
Cost and Admission
The hike is free for campers and day-use visitors with a permit. The daily entrance fee is $6 per adult or free with a Texas State Park Pass, which covers an entire carload.
