The tournament commenced with Alpine battling against Happy High School. After trailing at the half, the Bucks regained their rhythm to secure a 54-51 win. Key players Dae Hardwick and Isaiah Jimenez contributed 14 points each, helping turn the tide in favor of Alpine.
Challenge Against Slaton Tigers
In a rematch from last year’s encounter, the Bucks faced the Slaton Tigers. Despite an energetic start, Alpine struggled with shooting and a robust Slaton defense, ultimately falling 72-47. Notably, Dae Hardwick reached a career milestone, scoring his 1,000th point for the Fightin’ Bucks during this game.
Victory Over Whitharral Panthers
Alpine rebounded in their game against the Whitharral Panthers with a 58-53 victory, showcasing a strong comeback led by Ferris Daley with 18 points. The win placed the Bucks into the Consolation Championship game for the second consecutive year, highlighting their perseverance and team spirit.
Conquering Morton Indians in Consolation Championship
The tournament concluded with Alpine dominating the Morton Indians 57-40, with stellar performances from Ferris Daley and Dae Hardwick, who was later selected for the Caprock Classic All-Tournament Team. The team’s robust defense and coordinated offense were key to clinching the consolation title.
