Thursday night, Brewster County Deputies were contacted by US Border Patrol Agents in reference to a suspect who was detained at the Highway 118 checkpoint, South of Alpine. The suspect was in possession of 3 horses believed to have been imported illegally into Texas. During the initial investigation, the suspect presented fraudulent documents for the horses. The suspect was charged with Failure to Possess or Exhibit Permit or Certificate. This case is still under investigation.
