Alpine Fightin’ Bucks Volleyball Team Faced Tough Loss Against Tolar

On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the Alpine Fightin’ Bucks girls varsity volleyball team confronted a challenging opponent in Tolar, resulting in a defeat in straight sets during the Regional Semi-Finals match held at Wall High School. The intense competition saw the Fightin’ Bucks striving for victory, but ultimately Tolar secured the win with set scores of 27-25, 25-21, and 27-25.

Despite the loss, the Fightin’ Bucks showcased a strong offensive performance, with junior Peyton Kinkaide leading the team with 12 kills at an impressive hit rate of .550, followed by senior Hope Dominguez and junior Neveah Carrasco contributing significantly. Sophomore Taryn Hardin also demonstrated all-round abilities with contributions in kills, serving, and blocks.

The match statistics reflect a determined effort by Alpine, with a team total of 36 kills and a hitting efficiency of .267. The team also displayed solid defensive skills, tallying 70 digs, with senior Jaycee Portillo recording a high of 34 digs, dramatically impacting the team’s defense.
