Presidio CBP Officers Apprehend Manslaughter Suspect

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Presidio port of entry apprehended a 20-year-old U.S. citizen wanted on a manslaughter charge by Midland, Texas police. The arrest occurred on October 20 as the individual entered the United States from Mexico as a passenger in a vehicle.

During a routine inspection, CBP officers conducted a background check that revealed an active National Crime Identification Center (NCIC) warrant for manslaughter. The officers verified the warrant and the man was subsequently turned over to the Presidio Police Department for further processing.

This incident highlights the broader security role played by CBP officers, whose inspections often identify individuals wanted by various law enforcement agencies. The capture of the manslaughter suspect in Presidio is one of several fugitive apprehensions made by CBP officers in the region, which includes arrests related to assault, vehicle theft, and DWI over the last three days.
