Jeff Davis County Election Results: High Early Turnout and Predominantly Unopposed Races

Jeff Davis County’s election day concluded with a significant portion of votes cast during the early voting period, accounting for the majority of the 1,177 total ballots. Jeff Davis County Clerk Jennifer Wright noted the smooth proceedings of the election, with only 253 in-person votes recorded on the day.

In the local races, most positions were decided in the primaries, or featured incumbents running unopposed, leaving little suspense for the final outcomes. Victor Lopez, running unopposed, was elected as the new Jeff Davis County Sheriff/Tax Assessor-Collector with a total of 820 votes. Jody Adams (County Commissioner – Precinct 1), John Davis (County Commissioner – Precinct 3), and Mike Wright (Jeff Davis County Constable) were also re-elected without opposition.

The presidential race saw Donald J. Trump garner 699 votes in Jeff Davis County, contributing to his nationwide victory and becoming the 47th President of the United States.
