Bordo Hosts Fundraiser for Marfa’s Beloved Anthony DeSimone

This Thursday, November 7, from 6 to 9 p.m., Bordo will host a special fundraiser to support Marfa resident Anthony DeSimone’s medical expenses. The event will take place at Bordo, located at 1210 W San Antonio St, and promises an evening of community, music, and local flavors.

Owners Michael Anthony Serva and Hannah Texie Bailey are rallying the community to come together for DeSimone, a figure beloved for his artistic contributions ranging from music and acting to his culinary expertise and vibrant art. DeSimone, also known for his role at Cactus Liquors, has left a lasting impact on the community through his diverse talents and spirit.

The fundraiser will feature live DJ sets from Honky Tonk Happy Hour and DJ Rock Pile, visual projections by VJ Mellow Arms/Wayne Peacock, and raffle prizes from local businesses and artists including Harry Crofton, Margaret’s, Wrong, Mira Marfa, and more. A special bar provided by Cactus Liquors will offer pizza, homemade Baja Blast gelato, and fried ravioli.

All proceeds from the event, including those from a Venmo account set up at @adesimone, will go directly towards assisting DeSimone with his medical care. Attendees are encouraged to bring cash or use the Venmo tag to contribute.
