Job Details: The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operational and financial aspects of the store under the guidance of the Store Manager. Responsibilities include supervising store employees, managing merchandise, completing paperwork, preparing deposits, and maintaining a customer-first focus throughout all store operations.
Key Duties Include:
- Providing superior customer service and leadership.
- Assisting with scheduling, training of employees, and conducting safety meetings.
- Managing merchandise which includes receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking, and rotating merchandise on shelves.
- Maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- Ensuring the financial integrity of the store through strict cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- At least one year of retail experience and six months of supervisory experience are preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations.
- Proficiency in operating a cash register and generating reports.
Working Conditions:
- Job requires frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- The role involves frequent handling of merchandise and equipment and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions and driving to make bank deposits or attend meetings.
