Alpine ISD extended its gratitude to Fort Stockton ISD after a breakdown left one of its buses temporarily sidelined following a volleyball game in Andrews. The bus experienced a mechanical issue—a broken hose—while on the way back to Alpine, stranding the team in Coyanosa.
James Warnock, Fort Stockton ISD’s transportation director, responded promptly to Alpine ISD’s call for assistance, sending a bus to pick up the stranded students and staff. Fort Stockton ISD even loaned the bus to Alpine ISD for the remainder of the trip home.
In a statement, Alpine ISD expressed appreciation, saying, “Thank you, Fort Stockton ISD, for being a great neighbor to us, and helping our people get home safe! We appreciate y’all!”
The borrowed bus has since been returned to Fort Stockton ISD with a full tank of gas, and the Alpine ISD bus has been repaired and returned to service.
