Davis Mountains State Park Hosts ‘Hike with Homeless Dogs’ Every Thursday

Every Thursday morning, Davis Mountains State Park teams up with Grand Companions to offer “Hike with Homeless Dogs,” an initiative aimed at providing shelter pets with essential socialization and exercise.

The weekly event takes place from 9 to 10 a.m., starting at the Interpretive Center in Davis Mountains State Park. Participants are invited to help shelter dogs by accompanying them on a hike through the park’s scenic trails.

Organizers emphasize that attendees should not bring their own dogs to the event. The primary goal is to focus on the shelter pets, ensuring they receive the attention and activity they need.

For those interested in joining the hike, simply show up at the Interpretive Center on Thursday mornings. The collaborative effort between Davis Mountains State Park and Grand Companions highlights the community’s commitment to animal welfare and outdoor activities.
