Reeves County is setting the stage for the next generation of leaders, innovators, and community advocates with the groundbreaking of its new 4-H building. Located at 10 CR 118 in Pecos, the new facility, covering a vast 4,380 square feet, comes with a price tag of around $2 million.
The construction, which commenced on October 1, 2023, is anticipated to be completed by December 31, 2024.
Texas 4-H, a vital part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas A&M System since its inception in 1908, stands as a testament to youth empowerment and skill development. Catering to kids and teens between the ages of 8-18 in grades 3-12, Texas 4-H has evolved over the years to become the largest youth development program in Texas. Annually, it reaches an impressive number of over 550,000 youngsters across the state.
While some might associate 4-H exclusively with agriculture and animal care, the truth is far more diverse. Texas 4-H offers a plethora of activities that cater to a variety of interests. From shooting sports, robotics, and food science to fashion, healthy living, and photography, there’s something for every young mind eager to learn and grow.
