With an impressive educational journey and a strong commitment to community care, Soto-Hernandez is set to bring a wealth of expertise to his role as a Nurse Practitioner.
Originally from Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, Soto-Hernandez’s path in the medical field has been characterized by his unwavering dedication. After moving to Presidio, TX at 18, he embarked on an educational journey that would eventually lead him to excel in healthcare.
Soto-Hernandez’s journey began with his graduation from Presidio High School, followed by his pursuit of a Licensed Vocational Nursing degree from Sul Ross State University. Furthering his education, he attended Midland College and earned an associate degree in nursing. Notably, he spent four years working at Big Bend Regional Medical Center Emergency Department from 2018 to 2022.
While juggling a demanding night shift, Soto-Hernandez’s determination led him to pursue higher education. He successfully completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BS) from the University of Texas at El Paso with an exceptional GPA of 4.0.
Soto-Hernandez’s thirst for knowledge pushed him to earn a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in family practice across the lifespan, in 2022. During this time, he gained invaluable clinical experience under the guidance of respected medical professionals, including Dr. J. Ray, Dr. K. Ray, Dr. Simmons, and Dr. Billings.
In April 2023, Soto-Hernandez joined Preventative Care Health Services, where he now serves as a Family Nurse Practitioner. His return to Presidio, TX is a significant milestone, as he aims to provide exceptional medical care in Spanish, meeting the needs of the community.
