Aspiring to enhance the Alpine Visitor Center with a captivating night-sky mural, local supporters are hosting a fundraiser to gather the needed capital. The mural is designed to echo the “singing lobo” sculpture, a creation by artist/musician Doug Moreland, unveiled during the November 2022 ArtWalk event.
Donors can contribute at various levels, ranging from $10 to $150. A bonus awaits those who donate $25 or more. In recognition of their contribution, these donors will receive an Alpine Music Friendly Community t-shirt.
The fundraiser is taking place both online and in person during the Viva Big Bend 2023 event. Those wishing to donate in person can visit the Visit Alpine table, located at either the Holland Hotel box office or the Saturday evening show at the Granada Theatre. The proposed mural is seen as a perfect accompaniment to Moreland’s singing lobo, serving to welcome Alpine’s visitors with a vibrant fusion of art and music.
