The 37th annual Trappings of Texas is back with a bang, featuring the best and oldest exhibition of contemporary western art and custom cowboy gear. The event, which runs from September 14 to November 4, 2023, will see more than 50 artists participate, displaying their talents and masterpieces to art enthusiasts and collectors.
In a special honor for the opening weekend, Alice Leese, the 2023 Premier Artist, will showcase her latest creation “Outrunning the Storm,” an oil on panel work measuring 12″ x 24″. As an artist renowned for her western themed works, Leese’s piece is sure to set the tone for the weekend.
Billed as the best party in the Big Bend Country, attendees can enjoy artist demonstrations, the opening reception and sale at the museum, and the Trappings of Texas Ranch Roundup Party. These events not only provide a platform for artists to showcase their skills, but also offer attendees a chance to immerse themselves in western culture.
