The Smoke in the Mountain BBQ & Ribeye Shootout is set to take place on June 9th and 10th in Fort Davis, TX. The contest will feature a range of meats including chicken, ribs, brisket, cabrito, and jackpots such as steak, salsa, dessert, and margarita. The event is sanctioned and payout is dependent on turnout.
By participating in the competition or attending as a spectator, you are contributing to a worthy cause. The funds raised from the event will go towards supporting the First Responders of Jeff Davis County and providing them with the resources they need to continue their important work.
Summer Moreno, the event representative, is excited to host the competition in Fort Davis. Contestants can no longer register as the registration is full.
In addition to the BBQ and ribeye competition, the team that enters every category and has the highest combined score will be named the Overall-Overall Grand Champion and will be the owner of a wooden carving by local artist Doug Moreland.
Doug Moreland is a wood sculptor who has a new shop on the quaint main street of downtown Fort Davis. Doug also entertains with his full band around the “far out” west Texas region.
