Big Bend Ranch State Park invites visitors to attend “Bats on the River,” an event exploring the fascinating world of bats, on Friday, April 7, 2023, from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Ranger Layla Spurlock will lead the event, delving into the nocturnal behavior of these intriguing mammals and answering questions about their habits and habitats.
“Bats on the River” will take place at the Grassy Banks boat ramp, located approximately 10 miles west of the Barton Warnock Visitor Center and 40 miles east of Fort Leaton State Historic Site. Participants are advised to bring water and wear comfortable clothing, close-toed shoes, and layered attire.
