Big Bend Ranch State Park Hosts Orienteering 101 Workshop on April 1st

Big Bend Ranch State Park is offering an Orienteering 101 workshop on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Barton Warnock Visitor Center. The event, led by Ranger Layla Spurlock, aims to teach participants how to navigate the park’s backcountry using a compass and topographic map.

The workshop will provide attendees with hands-on guidance in compass usage and map navigation, equipping them with essential skills for exploring the vast landscapes of Big Bend Ranch State Park. Maps and compasses will be provided for the event, and participants are advised to bring water and wear comfortable shoes.
